The government of the United States has asked the Nigerian Government to bring to book agents behind the abduction of students of Government Science Secondary School in Kankara, Katsina State.
The US through its Department of State stated this, sending its “sincere sympathies” to the families of the victims.
In a statement issued by the spokesperson for the Department Cale Brown, the Nigerian Government was asked to ensure justice is served and the perpetrators made to face the “full extent of the law”.
The Department said, “We offer our sincere sympathies to the families of the missing students and the security guard killed in the attack.
“School should be a safe place where children can learn and thrive.”
On December 11, over 300 students were kidnapped by gunmen from the Government Science Secondary School in Kankara, Katsina State.
The abduction had raised a lot of dust, bolstering the call for a need to boost the security structure in the country.
Despite the fact that the students were released on Thursday by their abductors, the call for better security has increased.
