Mingueza and Araujo managed to impress in their first start alongside each other in the 2-1 win over the Basques on Wednesday.
Pique believes the pair are destined to succeed at the very highest level.
“They are 2 players that interest me in the game because they both have a great future ahead of them,” Gerard Pique said in an interview with Mundo Deportivo of Oscar Mingueza and Ronald Araujo.
The pair started their first game alongside each other in Barcelona’s 2-1 victory over Real Sociedad on Wednesday. Even though the new centre-back pairing weren’t faultless, they managed to impress in that comeback win at Camp Nou.
As Pique is out of action until at least March with a knee injury and Clement Lenglet is not at his best right now, Mingueza and Araujo have a great chance of becoming regular starters at Barca this term.
