Stats show that Wilshere didn’t do too great of a job to stop Barca’s trio.
During a questions and answers session with the fans on Twitter, former Arsenal and current Bournemouth player Jack Wilshere was asked from whom out of Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Sergio Busquets he learned the most during the Champions League home clash against Barcelona in 2011.
The Englishman tried to play smart by saying he didn’t learn anything as he had the trio in his pocket during the match.

Stats, however, prove otherwise.
Xavi vs Arsenal in 2011: (h/t WhoScored)

Just because Arsenal ended up winning the match doesn’t mean that Wilshere outplayed Barca’s midfield trio. Besides, the Gunners went on to lose the returning leg 3-1 and were eliminated from the competition.
