The 19-year-old is said to be in Tuchel’s long-term plans despite missing out on matchday squads in the German’s opening two games in charge.
Thomas Tuchel has been impressed by Billy Gilmour in training and thus blocked his loan exit in January, according to Matt Law of The Telegraph.
The 19-year-old was left out of Chelsea squads in Tuchel’s opening two games in charge of the Blues last week.
Hence, he was expected to leave Stamford Bridge on loan until the end of the season.
As per Law, however, the midfielder ‘will get chances and game time’ from the new manager.
Gilmour has played a total of 459 minutes for Chelsea across all competitions this term so far.
