China on Wednesday donated COVID-19 test kits to Uganda to boost the country’s efforts against the virus.
The donation was delivered by Chinese Ambassador to Uganda Zheng Zhuqiang during a courtesy visit to Uganda’s Minister for Health Jane Ruth Aceng.
This was the fourth such donation by China to the East African country.
Aceng expressed her gratitude to Zheng for his continued support to her country’s health sector and also to the ongoing COVID-19 response.
By Wednesday, Uganda had reported 41,237 COVID-19 cases with 338 deaths.
In efforts against the virus, various government-imposed containment measures are in place, in addition to a mass vaccination exercise.
