Paul Rudd, the star of Ant-Man has been given the title of Sexiest Man Alive.
The actor who is known for playing comic characters was bestowed the honour courtesy of People magazine and the news was revealed in a prolonged comedy sketch of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Tuesday night.
The show’s host Colbert put Paul Rudd through a series of “sexiness” tests, including a physical examination and photo shoots as a construction worker and monk, just to prove that he could add the sexy touch to anything.
Everything got to a climax when the actor poured a gallon of water over his head and remarked, “Help me, I’m drowning in sexiness.
After the tests came to an end, Colbert informed Rudd that he had “tested negative for sexy”. The latter started to walk away in disappointment after thanking Colbert for the opportunity only to be treated to a round of applause from the host and a roomful of people in white lab coats.
“There’s nothing sexier than humility … and you passed!” Colbert said, “Paul, you’re the sexiest man alive.”
Rudd was obviously stunned and could only reply, “I’m the sexiest man alive?!” He then put his hand over his mouth and was crowned, with flowers given to him and a banner with the words “SEXIEST MAN ALIVE.”

Speaking with People magazine, the Clueless star stated that he hoped he would be invited to “some of those sexy dinners with Clooney and Pitt and B. Jordan.”
“I mean I’m going to lean into it hard. I’m going to own this. I’m not going to try to be like ‘Oh, I’m so modest.’ I’m getting business cards made,” Rudd told the magazine.
Rudd takes over from Michael B. Jordan who was the Sexiest Man Alive for the year 2020.
