Mohamed Salah’s interview with an Arabic TV from 2012 has gone viral.
During the talk, the Egyptian, who was 20 back then, was asked about his attitude to Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Salah: “I wish to God that they [Barcelona] are winning [against Milan in the Champions League].”
Interviewer: “They are winning 3-1. Messi scored two goals from two penalties, and Iniesta scored the third goal. You really like Messi, don’t you?”
Salah: “Very much! I like all Barca players.”
Interviewer: “You watch their matches?”
Salah: “Yeah, I’m following them. And I don’t like Real Madrid. I don’t know why. I wish to God that they lose in La Liga.”
Interviewer: “What about Cristiano Ronaldo, what do you think of him?”
Salah: “I used to adore him when he was in Manchester. But since he went to Real Madrid, he scores amazing goals, but I still think he doesn’t play like he used to at United.”
Interviewer: “Different? But he scored 37 goals… ”
Salah: “Yes, he is ahead of everyone else. And Messi is just behind him with 36. Last year he scored more than 40.”
Seems like Mo haf a spot for Barca! That’s nice to know.
According to the latest reports, the player’s contract talks with Liverpool have been ‘broken’ and he could potentially leave the club soon.
