Manchester United have announced that Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata will leave their club this summer.
Of the trio, a player who could step into the shoes of Ousmane Dembele is Lingard.
The Englishman is looking to revamp his career after a difficult period in Manchester.
He’s only 29 and could arrive as a free agent this month. Barca have signed some good players for free lately including Eric Garcia, Memphis Depay and Aubameyang. They can take it a step further with a gamble with Lingard. After all, they’ve been linked with the winger in the past.
Lingard is quick, good with the ball and rarely gets injured. Although he could improve on his finishing – just like Dembele.
The bottom line is that Barcelona will have to pay through their nose to sign a Dembele replacement if the Frenchman leaves – that’s if they go for someone like Raphinha.
Meanwhile, Lingard can come in and do the same job for far less.
