Barcelona currently have negative equity of around €500m but are working on a plan to reduce it by almost half, Diario Sport’s reliable Ferra Correas reports.
The Catalans have requested an equity update. This is a process of re-evaluation of the club’s assets, and the entity that will carry out the operation has already been approved.
At the moment, all of Barca’s assets are valued at around €150m. After the update, it is expected that this valuation will rise to around €400m.
Although this does not mean an injection of cash into the club, this will give us more freedom in terms of Financial Fair Play as the overall economic situation will improve. This could allow the club to register new players easier.
