According to sources, Manchester United-bound Christian Eriksen has yet to inform Brentford that he will not be re-signing with the Bees. The Danish midfielder is a free agent after his contract with Brentford expired at the end of June and is expected to join the Red Devils.
Eriksen is a priority goal for new United manager Erik ten Hag, who wants the Dutchman to play his preferred style at Old Trafford. Since Ten Hag’s hiring was announced at the end of last season, the Premier League club has been pursuing Eriksen and Barcelona star, Frenkie de Jong.

However, it piqued the interest of far bigger clubs, with Eriksen allegedly ready to join United. According to multiple reports, the Danish international will be subjected to a comprehensive physical due to his Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) before signing a three-year contract at Old Trafford.
According to the I newspaper, Eriksen apparently did not inform Brentford of his intention to reject their offer in favor of United’s on Monday. Brentford’s request was premised on the playmaker being important to the club’s continued development under head coach Frank.
Despite the club’s recent troubles, the Bees were reportedly resigned to losing the talent due to the attraction of United. However, they had not been informed of Eriksen’s final decision until Monday.
Eriksen’s selection is a big coup for United, especially given that the former Ajax man had seriously pondered extending his contract with Brentford. Ten Hag believes that the midfielder, along with De Jong, is crucial to his restoration.
