Robert Lewandowski ‘has received several death threats’ from Bayern Munich fans on social media, reports Piotr Kozminski.
The Pole decided to travel to Munich without his family for safety reasons.
Earlier, it was reported by Spanish outlets that the player’s wife stayed in Mallorca to wait until her husband’s move to Barcelona is official.
As a reminder, Lewandowski and his wife have a house in Spain. They often spend their summer vacation there.
It is quite possible that the Lewandowski saga will finally end before the weekend. The player has refused to go on strike but is waiting for the move to materialise.
Lewandowski’s current deal runs until July 2023. The 33-year-old scored 50 goals for Bayern Munich last season.
