The winter transfer window is about to open on January 1, 2023. There is not expected to be a lot of incomings at Barcelona due to the financial fairplay restrictions.
But you can never say never when it comes to the Blaugrana! Here we look at the potential arrivals and departures ahead of the January window.
Potential Arrivals
Martin Zubimendi: Xavi reportedly wants the Real Sociedad midfielder to be the long-term successor to Sergio Busquets. However, the Blaugrana are unlikely to sign him until Busquets’ future is resolve – which isn’t expected before February.
Enzo Fernandez: Barca have also entered the race for the Argentine sensation, who has earned a reputation for being among the most hard-hitting defensive midfielders in Europe. But with Benfica likely to ask for over €80m for him in January, Barca probably can’t afford that in the winter.
Youri Tielemans: Barca might make a move for the Leicester City midfielder in the winter as they’re aware he might be available for a cut-price fee. He’s been recommended to the club by Belgium manager Roberto Martinez.
Bernardo Silva: Bernardo is reportedly keen on joining Barca next year and has told the club he wants to join them. But Man City’s demands, which might include a €80m transfer fee, will probably push any deal to happen not before the summer window.
Mohammed Kudus: Barca director Jordi Cruyff has revealed that the club have been scouting the Ghana star for the last year, but it remains to be seen if the club actually makes a move for him after the World Cup.
Potential departures.
Memphis Depay: The Dutchman has reportedly asked the club to terminate his deal in January, so it looks that he might be going after the World Cup is over.
Hector Bellerin: Barca will listen to offers for Bellerin in January as they want to sell him as soon as possible. If a good offer comes in, he could also leave in January.
Franck Kessie: Kessie has been linked to a surprise move to Inter Milan in the summer, but his agent claims that he is happy and will remain at the club throughout this season.
