“Shakira’s life has been full of ups and downs, not only as a result of her separation from Gerard Piqué but also as a result of her father’s difficult medical issues, which required his hospitalisation in a Barcelona facility.
William Mebarak, Shakira’s Father, has been given the all-clear to leave Spain and travel to Miami, Florida to begin his new life.
Shakira is beginning a new phase in her life. She bid the Spanish city of Barcelona, where the Colombian singer lived with her two sons and Piqué farewell in a post on Instagram.
“I established myself in Barcelona to give my kids stability, the same one we are now looking for in another corner of the world alongside my family, friends and the sea,” she shared on social media. “Today we start a new chapter in search of their happiness.”
Shakira continued, “Thank you to everyone that surfed with me in the Barcelona waves, the city in which I learned that friendship is longer than love. Thanks to everyone that helped me, dried my tears, inspired me and made my grow. Thanks to all my Spanish fans that gave me their loyalty and love. For you guys, it’s only a see you later and like my father said many times, we’ll see you on the curves.”
According to reports, Shakira and her boys Milan and Sasha are considering relocating to Miami, Florida. The move is followed by allegations that her former lover, Piqué is currently dating a woman named Clara Chá.
Shakira was moved to compose a song as a public expression of her feelings following the breakup. The Colombian singer-songwriter worked with Bizarrap on “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53,” where she converted the hit song into an anthem of female empowerment while criticising Piqué.
One of the lyrics from the song says, “Las mujeres ya no lloran, las mujeres facturan,” which translates to, “Women don’t cry anymore, they cash in.”
The song was an international sensation, and when Shakira performed it on The Tonight Show, the energetic audience’s participation helped the performance become viral.
