Today, new social collaboration marketplace Pearpop’s newly launched “Boost Mode.” Brands may now use creator content to create effective paid ads.
Pearpop’s new “Boost Mode lets businesses find live content with high views, likes, and engagement and transform it into advertising. Brands reward creators. Pearpop sees the new offering as “try before you buy” paid ads.
“Once creator content goes live as part of a Pearpop Challenge, brands can then monitor organic performance in real-time through our Brand Dashboard,” Pearpop CEO Cole Mason told TechCrunch in an email. Brands may monitor all live creator content and choose which to promote via paid media. Boost Mode lets brands instantly boost their best Pearpop Challenge posts with paid amplification. Brands may quickly and easily “scale what works.”

Two weeks before, TikTok released the “TikTok Creative Challenge.” Creators can submit video commercials to brand challenges and receive money depending on video performance if a company chooses them.
Mason says Boost Mode “lets marketers double-down on the content that is already proven to perform” unlike TikTok’s new product. TikTok requires creators to submit material, then brands choose a video to promote. Only chosen video ads are paid. Pearpop rewards authors first for their Organic Views in a Pearpop Challenge and then a bonus when a brand chooses their material.

Both companies assist creators save time and effort when pitching brands for brand deals.
Pearpop, founded in 2020, facilitates brand-creator and creator-creator collaboration. Pearpop lets marketers and creators buy Madonna and Sommer Ray collaborations. Celebrities and influencers market collaborations. They can also host “challenges” on TikTok or Instagram that require users to post using a specific prompt or sound to win cash prizes based on interaction.
Pearpop has attracted Amazon, Netflix, Chipotle, Rakuten, Universal Pictures, Sonos, Beyond Meat, Doja Cat, The Weeknd, Madonna, Shawn Mendez, and Post Malone.

Mason said data is essential for frictionless creator collaboration at scale. “We invest in the richest creator dataset while scaling the largest community of vetted creators in the industry and building enhanced features for brands and creators. We’ll do this on all major social platforms and watch new and emerging ones to make sure our product functions wherever audiences are. All to help more creators make a livelihood doing what they love while simplifying, scaling, and measuring creator marketing.
Pearpop raised $18 million in Series A last fall, valuing it at $300 million. Pearpop raised $34 million since its launch.
