- Aaron reckons that as a public figure to stand up against what he thinks is wrong and unjust.
- Football players are role models for many people, which means that they bear great social responsibility, he explains.
- ‘Even if it is just one person, I want to help as much as I can,’ the 28-year-old finishes up.
Aaron Ramsey joined Juventus this summer and has already conquered it becoming a key clog in Mauricio Sarri’s system. However, it has never been only about football for the 28-year-old.
Just like some other footballers – his former teammate Hector Bellerin, Man City’s forward Raheem Sterling and former Man United striker Romelu Lukaku – Ramsey is not shy about expressing his opinion on various social problems from racism to climate change.
There was worldwide outcry when the Notre Dame cathedral was on fire. Why is there not the same level of outrage for the fires destroying the Amazon rainforest?

In the recent interview with BBC, Aaron has explained why he thinks it’s important for the football player as a public figure to stand up against what he thinks is wrong and unjust:
“We are role models and have a big audience we can appeal to, so there are many different subjects we can voice our opinions on. As long as it is done in a good and heartfelt way, we can have a positive impact on a lot of different topics.
“I have always had a love for animals,” Ramsey said referring to his latest tweet against wild animals poaching. “To see how helpless they are in some situations, I can’t understand it. I try to do my bit to spread the word and have some sort of impact.
“But it is not just that. There are other things I have been involved in as well, for example the climate. Some massive changes need to be taken to help this planet for future generations. There are certain things I want to get involved in. We are in a position where we can have some effect so, even if it is just one person, I want to help as much as I can.”
Ramsey has arrived to Juventus while still carrying an injury from the last season and missed the pre-season but has already managed four appearances for the Old Lady and even scored one goal – against Verona.
