A person who was shot Monday at an intersection in south suburban Country Club Hills has been identified as Chicago rapper Tavares Taylor, known as Lil Reese, by hospital officials.
In a report by TMZ, the rapper was shot Monday afternoon about 40 minutes outside of Chicago. Cops were called to the shooting scene where they found a car with fresh blood in the driver’s seat and on the ground adjacent to the driver’s door.
He suffered a single gunshot wound to the neck and is being treated at South Suburban Hospital. The reason for the gunshot has not yet been known.
No arrests have been reported. An investigation by Country Club Hills police is ongoing.
Lil Reese is an American rapper who became known for his collaborations with the likes of Chief Keef and Fredo Santana.
In 2012, Taylor was featured on Keef’s single “I Don’t Like”, which peaked at No. 73 on the Billboard Hot 100, No.20 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, and No. 15 on the Hot Rap Songs chart.
His debut mixtape, Don’t Like, was released later that year. Since his first mixtape, Lil Reese has gone on to release 6 mixtapes in total, including 2013’s Supa Savage, as well as 2 EPs, including the collaborative EP Supa Vultures with Lil Durk.
