The world is getting crazy as the 2019 Ballon d’Or winner is set to be announced this Monday, December 2. The ceremony begins at 20:30 CET. Mundo Deportivo reveal which Barcelona players are going to travel to Paris.
According to the Catalan top source, only four Barcelona players will join the president Josep Maria Bartomeu in Paris. These are Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Frenkie de Jong, Antoine Griezmann and Lionel Messi. All four of them have been nominated for the Ballon d’Or.
Earlier on, several sources reported that Leo Messi was the winner of the award and had already been informed by France Football, the newspaper that gives away the award.
Most recently, an anonymous source on Twitter ‘leaked’ the final result of the voting. As the list shows, Leo Messi sits in the first place with 446 points. Liverpool’s Virgil Van Dijk is the runner-up with 382 points and Salah completes the top 3 with 179 points. Messi’s career-long rival Cristiano Ronaldo finishes in the fourth position with 133 points.
However, you should keep in mind that these results have been leaked by an anonymous source on Twitter and it isn’t clear whether it should be trusted enough.
