- Zlatan Ibrahimovic is expected to return to Serie A this winter.
- When asked about Leo Messi’s rival Cristiano Ronaldo, the Swede didn’t hold back.
- “There is one Ronaldo, the Brazilian,” said Barca’s ex-striker.
- Cristiano’s sisters and agent have started a war against the media after Leo Messi had won the Ballon d’Or.
Cristiano Ronaldo and his family may throw as many digs at Leo Messi as they want – he’s not even the best footballer named Ronaldo. Ex-Barca striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic rates Ronaldo Nazario, who also played for Blaugrana, much higher.
When asked by GQ (h/t Diario AS) whether he ‘will find the real Ronaldo in Italy’, the Swede delivered quite an answer.
“None of it! There is one Ronaldo, the Brazilian!”
The Juventus forward often mentions Messi in interviews, calling him to accept the challenge and leave for another league, just like he did. However, Ibrahimovic doesn’t see any challenge in Ronaldo winning the Serie A:
“He signed for a team that won Serie A seven times in a row. Going to a club like that is not a challenge,” explained the 38-year-old. “If he really wanted a challenge, he should have gone to Juve when they were in Serie B.”
As a reminder, France Football have recently awarded the 2019 Ballon d’Or. Messi has won the award for the sixth time, setting a new world record.
Meanwhile, Cristiano, who didn’t even attend the ceremony, finished in third place. Although he didn’t do anything remarkable in 2019, his agent and his sisters launched a war against France Football, claiming that Leo has won the award because of the mafia.
As for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, he is currently a free agent as his contract at Los Angeles Galaxy ran out. The former Blaugrana is expected to return to Italy, with AC Milan being his most likely destination.
