Beneficiaries of the Nigerian Government’s N-Power scheme are calling on the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development to pay their January Stipend.
Afriupdate News understands that the beneficiaries of the Federal Government N-Power programme have not been paid their January 2020 stipend, six days into the new month, February.

This online news medium had earlier reported that beneficiaries are fuming over what they describe as “habitual delay of their monthly stipends” by the N-Power scheme.
Beneficiaries of the scheme are being paid N30, 000 monthly by the Federal Government scheme.
Dubbed as the largest post-tertiary employment programme in Africa, the Muhammadu Buhari government sees the scheme as one of its major achievements.
Beneficiaries do not need high-wire connections as the screening process was largely transparent and efficient.
Headquartered formerly under the office of Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, N-Teach is the most popular of the N-SIP, which also focuses on health, agriculture and public finance.
Due to the deficiency in the number of teaching staff in public schools, many “unemployed graduates” were deployed to schools in order to complement the efforts of the staff on the ground.

These beneficiaries’ (also addressed as volunteers) pay have always been irregular and the fate of the pioneer batch is uncertain, with constant talks of exit plan.
Afriupdate News gathered some of the reactions from the beneficiaries as seen below:

Npower volunteers are still not paid their stipend for month of January. I wonder the kind of excuse they will give this time. The NextLevel is hitting hard.

Most we cry out every month end before you pay us?
I don't understand this again. Someone will carry out his Primary assignment.. but when the month ends.. Nothing.
Not even a statement to explain the cause of the delay.— Apiri Joel Amakiri (THE Priest&King) (@ajad198) February 6, 2020
@npower_ng I know u people are doing your best to see that all stipends are cleared, but I feel the pain of expectations the beneficiaries are going through, pls try as much as u can to get things done.

Anybody that has conscience will know January stipend is not supposed to be delayed. It is not help you are doing to us by delaying our stipend because you don’t know what we pass through before the end of the month.
