Arsenal maintained their 100% start to the Premier League season with a home victory over West Ham United, with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah scoring either side of a Michail Antonio equaliser.
Two of the Gunners’ summer signings, Willian and Gabriel, started the game, while Cedric Soares and Pablo Mari were not involved.
The victory wasn’t Arsenal’s most convincing, with manager Mikel Arteta admitting his side rode their luck at times, and further reinforcements may be needed if the Gunners are to challenge for a top four spot.
A wide array of players have been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium this summer, and we have gathered the latest odds from BetVictor to take a closer look at those most strongly tipped to join the north London club.
Philippe Coutinho – 1/3
Arsenal’s close relationship with agent Kia Joorabchian has seen a number of players – including Willian and Cedric – complete permanent moves this summer.
Another Joorabchian client linked with the club is Coutinho, with the Brazilian among a number of players who could be allowed to leave Barcelona as new manager Ronald Koeman attempts to build his squad.
The former Liverpool player joined Barca for a nine-figure fee back in January 2018, but the fees discussed in relation to a Camp Nou exit have been substantially lower.
Dayot Upamecano – Evens
French centre-back Upamecano recently extended his contract with RB Leipzig, for whom he impressed last season as the club finished third in the Bundesliga and reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
The 21-year-old made his senior debut for France in September and, while the new deal will ensure no club is able to sign him for a knock-down price, Arsenal continue to be linked.
The Gunners are well-stocked at centre-back as things stand, especially with the big-money arrival of Gabriel, but there have been reports of exits for the likes of Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis which could free up space.
Nabil Fekir – 2/1
Fekir has been linked with a Premier League switch on more than one occasion, with Liverpool coming close to a deal for the French international in 2018.
The 27-year-old is now at Real Betis, having left Lyon for the Spanish club in 2019, but has already seen his name mentioned in connection with Arsenal.
Fekir played for Betis in their win over Real Valladolid at the weekend, scoring the opening goal from the penalty spot, but may still be an option depending on what happens with Mesut Ozil’s Arsenal future.
Wilfred Zaha – 4/1
Zaha’s two goals against Manchester United on Saturday reminded potential suitors of what the Crystal Palace winger can do, and links with Arsenal have resurfaced over recent weeks after the Gunners opted against a deal for him last summer.
Arsenal instead moved for Zaha’s Ivorian international team-mate Nicolas Pepe last summer, but Palace boss Roy Hodgson spoke last season of a desire to resolve the player’s future one way or another.
Chris Wood – 4/1
A move for Wood was mooted earlier in the summer when Arsenal were still at an impasse over Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s contract, though the Gabonese forward has now committed his long-term future to the club.
However, the Gunners may still find themselves on the lookout for attacking reinforcements if Alexandre Lacazette – out of contract in 2022 – is allowed to move on.
New Zealand international Wood has been a consistent Premier League goalscorer for Burnley, hitting double-figures in each of the last three seasons.
Odsonne Edouard – 4/1
Edouard is another of Arsenal’s attacking options, if reports are to be believed, with the Celtic striker courted by a number of Premier League sides.
While Wood would be a cheaper option, 22-year-old Edouard has a higher ceiling and potential sell-on value.
The French under-21 international scored 28 goals last season, but missed out through injury as Celtic’s Champions League qualifying campaign came to an end against Ferencvaros in August.
