Barcelona set for a mega surprise with several changes on the transfer deadline day as Ronald Koeman has drafted a long list of transfers
The transfer deadline is here and most clubs will be hoping to finalize all their transfer operations within the next few hours. Barcelona is in the same boat as well, as Ronald Koeman has drafted a long list of transfers that should be completed within the next few hours.
The Catalans are on the lookout for a striker and a defender for this season. Reports from France confirm that Lyon has stated that Memphis Depay could sign for Barca in the coming few hours as he has an agreement with the club. Meanwhile, Barca has also contacted Eric Garica of Manchester City who is eager to join forces with Koeman at Camp Nou and Pep Guardiola is also aware of this situation.
The Catalans are hoping to seal the signing of both Depay and Garcia within the next few hours, however, it seems like a huge task to pull off. The 2018/19 La Liga champions will most likely either sign one of the two or none.
Meanwhile, the Dutch manager has also created a list of departures from the club. The players that have been mentioned are not wanted by the manager and he has no plans of giving them ample game time this season.
Samuel Umtiti, Jean Clair-Todibo, Rafinha Alcantara, and Ousmane Dembele have been added to the list of possible departures. Koeman also wants Riqui Puig and Carles Alena to go out on loan, however, both the Spanish midfielders want to stay and fight for a spot.
The club has just a few hours to finalize their transfer operations for the 2020/21 season. If nothing materialises, the club will have to wait for the winter transfer market.
