Chelsea are busy preparing for a massive Premier League game on Saturday evening.
The Blues earned a goalless draw against Sevilla on Tuesday in their first Champions League group stage tie, with Frank Lampard pleased with the defensive resolve his side showed.
Next up is Manchester United, with both sides gunning for a top-four place yet again.
The Red Devils beat Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night to make it back-to-back wins, so the Blues will hope to have all their players available against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.
Here is a round-up of all the very latest Chelsea injury news.
Thiago Silva
Frank Lampard has played down fears that Thiago Silva picked up a knock in the Sevilla game, after falling awkwardly in the second half.
“He has not flagged it, so I think we are okay,” Lampard said after the game. “I thought Thiago showed the things I have spoken about, his experiences and qualities.
“Mendy had one good save to make and he made it, and was good with his feet.
“Against a very good team it was a very organised defensive performance. I am very pleased.”
Hakim Ziyech
Like last Saturday against Southampton, Hakim Ziyech was again named on the bench against Sevilla.
The Morocco international is thought to still be building up his fitness after missing the start of the season with a knee injury.
Lampard brought Ziyech on for Mason Mount with under half hour to go against Sevilla, but the midfielder’s introduction could not inspire the Blues to victory.
Ziyech will remain in contention to start on Saturday at Old Trafford, although he admits he’s still not fully fit.
“I still have a way to go,” he admitted, speaking to Bein Sports about his fitness levels. “Obviously, I did not play for a long time even because of the virus, of course.
“And then it has just been a bit unlucky that the injury came. I just try to stay calm and then everything will come by itself.”
Mason Mount
The England international started the game against Sevilla, but was substituted for Hakim Ziyech in the second half.
This is thought to have been a tactical decision from Lampard, however, and Mount should be in contention for selection on Saturday.
Billy Gilmour
Frank Lampard has confirmed that Billy Gilmour is making good progress following knee surgery.
“Billy is working really well,” Lampard said ahead of the Sevilla game. “He’s probably three or four weeks away from his return.
“He’s working outside with the physios at the moment but we hope to integrate him into training with either ourselves or the Under-21s at some point soon.
“We are probably looking at the other side of the next international break with Billy, all being well.”
