Mesut Ozil started liking Arsenal fan’s tweets asking to ‘free him’ during their humiliating 3-0 loss to Aston Villa.
Ozil hasn’t been included in Mikel Arteta’s 25-man Premier League squad despite being one of the club’s highest earners.
The German’s last appearance came in March and he’s decided to take matters into his own hands.
While Ozil’s teammates were being dominated at the Emirates Stadium, he begun liking tweets with messages of “Free Ozil” and “I miss you Ozil.”

Ozil was furious at being exiled from the squad and released a strong statement slamming his employers.
When asked about the World Cup winner’s statement, Arteta admitted per Sky Sports: “Everybody is free to express their feelings.
“It was just a football decision and my conscience is very calm because I have been really fair with him.
“My level of communication with him has been high, we know what to expect with each other.
“He has had the opportunities like everybody else. I’m sad that I had to leave three players out of this list but I tried to look everybody in the eye and be comfortable with it.
“With Mesut, I have this feeling because I have been very straight forward since I arrived at this club.
“It’s nothing related to [Ozil’s] behaviour. It’s my decision.”
Villa punished Arsenal this evening and took the lead thanks to a Bukayo Saka own goal.
Trezeguet’s shot deflected off the teenager and past a helpless Bernd Leno in net.

Arsenal looked abject throughout the game and it was a far cry from the performance they put in against Manchester United last weekend.
Ollie Watkins continued his remarkable form against the big six by scoring twice in the second half to seal a memorable victory for Dean Smith’s side.
