It is no secret that Ivan Rakitic is looking for a way out of Camp Nou. The Croatian has struggled to find enough play-time this season and has made only 13 appearances so far.
As per Fox Sports, Juventus and Barcelona have found common grounds to initiate transfer talks involving Ivan Rakitic. Juventus have been touted as the favorites to land the Croatia international in the coming transfer window.
The 31 year-old has not been favoured by Ernesto Valverde in recent times and that’s hasn’t come to the liking of the Midfielder. Ivan admitted recently that he will have to look at other options if his current situation at Barca continues to grow.
The deal is pretty simple and it involves two players plus cash for Ivan Rakitic. The players that Barcelona are being offered are Daniele Rugani and Merih Demiral along with some cash for the 31 year-old. It is believed that the Camp Nou outfit is interested in the deal and they might end up taking up Juventus on their offer.
The Blaugrana are looking for replacements for Gerard Pique who is nearing his end at Barcelona and Clement Lenglet who has been inconsistent with his performances. Hence it was always imperative that Ernesto Valverde was on the lookout for some quality defenders and that is why this deal might do them more good, than it will for Juventus. Moreover, if it doesn’t go through, Rakitic will try and force a move in the winter window.
The defending La Liga champions are set to undergo a major overhaul in the coming future and Valverde has his own reasons for excluding Rakitic out of his plans. Grooming the prospects as the club is the current priority and that is why the 31 year-old is being overlooked. Rakitic is set to leave and Barcelona know it too and if they don’t act quickly, they might end up losing out on this lucrative offer.
