British singer Harry Styles has reportedly joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Eros, the god of love and sex.
The former one direction singer has joined the Marvel Comics Universe after being cast in The Eternals series.
A Variety reporter confirmed Styles’ new role at the screening of The Eternals in LA. He wrote, “Big reveal from #TheEternals premiere — Harry Styles has joined the MCU as Eros, brother of Thanos.”
Styles’ rumoured casting comes ahead of the Nov. 5 premiere of Eternals in the US. The series directed by Oscar winner Chloé Zhao features Marvel’s typically star-studded roster, including Angelina Jolie, Kumail Nanjiani, Gemma Chan.
The news was also confirmed by other event-goers who claimed Harry Styles made an appearance in the post-credits scene of the latest Marvel film. While very little is known about the project, Harry may star alongside Josh Brolin, who joined the MCU in Avengers: Endgame as Thanos.
Eros is the youngest son of A’Lars and Sui-San and was born Eron. He was renamed Eros after developing an interest in the opposite sex.
Eros’ character is described as ‘carefree and womanising’, a huge contrast to his brother Thanos, a power-hungry schemer.
This role would mark the 27-year old entertainer’s fourth film feature kickstarted with a largely non-speaking role in 2017’s Dunkirk.
Since then, he shifted into starring roles in two upcoming films.
The upcoming Don’t Worry Darling, which stars Florence Pugh, has already become popular as the set where Styles and director Olivia Wilde apparently first kindled a romantic spark.
Despite not having a scheduled release date, his third project, My Policeman, promises a graphic sex scene between Styles and co-star David Dawson, designed to look “as real as possible,” a production insider revealed. The movie also stars Emma Corrin.
On the other hand, Harry Styles is still on his Love On Tour, which wraps next month with his final stop in Los Angeles.
