British girl band Little Mix is set to formally announce the band’s split next month after a decade long success.
Sources close to the group told The Sun that the trio Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards are set to announce the band’s breakup one year after singer Jesy Nelson confirmed her exit from the band.
The group found fame after winning The X Factor in 2011 would be using their 2022 world tour as a farewell. An insider reported that it is “very clear that the end of the road has been reached” for the band.
They also added, “A date is set to announce the split. The upcoming tour is going to be a farewell to their fans.” The group’s split would allow each member to pursue solo careers, which may not necessarily include music.”
Reports state that Leigh-Anne has signed up with Dua Lipa’s manager, while Jade is looking to focus on becoming a songwriter and presenter, and Perrie also reportedly has a few things in the works.
The source said: “They still get on great, despite everything that happened with Jesy.”
“They all know there will have to be a career beyond Little Mix, so they’ve put things in place.”
The trio is currently fulfilling their commitments and would release their seventh album Between US on November 12, followed by a tour in 2022, after which they would turn to solo projects.
The news of Little Mix’s split comes a week after leaked messages showed Leigh-Anne Pinnock calling out Jesy Nelson for blackfishing in her first solo single, Boyz. Responding Nicki Minaj featured on the single, referred to Pinnock as a ‘Jealous clown’, which sparked social media outrage.
Little Mix also released the full lyrics to its diss track Cut You Off were released, in which they sing: “It’ll be so sweet when you crawl back.”
