Microsoft’s New Xbox Series: Microsoft has officially filed a trademark for the logo of its upcoming Xbox Series X console. According to the trademark application, it was filed on April 16, showcasing a drastic departure from previous Xbox console logos.
The leaked image of the new logo, which shows the word “Series” vertically across a stylized X, was first spotted on Reddit. It’s minimalistic and features none of the green colors seen in previous iterations. Since the filing was with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, many speculate the logo will be showcased on any and all of Xbox’s upcoming products. Although it’s not official, the recent filing and naming imply this image may be the final design. Much like the new logo, the console itself has seen a drastic change when compared to previous systems, as explained by the company’s principal designer.
PlayStation previously revealed the logo for its PlayStation 5 in January during CES. It too is expected to have a drastic aesthetic change in its upcoming console, if its revamped two-tone DualSense controller is an indicator of anything.
