Snoop Dogg Red Wine – Seemingly turning his back on his beloved gin and juice, Snoop Dogg has got his own red wine coming out this summer.
The rapper has joined forces with Australian wine producer 19 Crimes to bring you Snoop Cali Red.
The red wine blend is made using 65 percent Petite Syrah, 30 percent Zinfandel, and five percent Merlot, according to Food & Wine.
The 19 Crime range of wines gets its name from a list of 19 crimes that would have seen Brits sent over to Australia back in the 18th Century.
According to the company’s website: “Nineteen crimes turned convicts into colonists. Upon conviction British rogues guilty of a least one of the 19 crimes were sentenced to live in Australia, rather than death.”
Treasury Wine Estates (TWE), the parent company of 19 Wines, has said the rapper is the ‘perfect partner’ for the wine-maker.
TWE marketing vice president John Wardley said: “Snoop Dogg, an entertainment and California icon, is the perfect partner for 19 Crimes Snoop Cali Red.
“Snoop embodies the spirit of 19 Crimes – rule breaking, culture creating and overcoming adversity. We are truly excited to partner with Snoop and welcome him to the 19 Crimes family.”
Meanwhile, Snoop said: “I’ve been a fan of this wine and I’m excited to unveil my ‘Snoop Cali Red’ this summer and share the experience with all my fans. It’s one of the most successful brands in the market, so I’m more than eager to bring this collaboration to the world!”
As yet, we don’t have a date when you’ll be able to get your filthy paws on a bottle, but 19 Crimes has confirmed it will be ‘this summer’.
This isn’t the only non-musical partnership Snoop is currently working on – earlier this month, he revealed he would joining forces with plant-based company Beyond Meat to provide more than one million burgers for those who needed them during the coronavirus pandemic, including front line workers and foodbank users.
