Charli XCX has had a busy year so far and shows no plan of stopping. After launching a global tour with Tommy Genesis after the release of her highly-anticipated Charli album, the singer-songwriter has just announced a new Netflix series, I’m With the Band: Nasty Cherry.
The six part series documents the formation and beginnings of Nasty Cherry, an all-female alt-pop band Charli XCX formed and signed to her label Vroom Vroom. Charli XCX calls the band “unashamedly real” and “badass” in a trailer which released today, which stars XCX along with the four musicians who make up Nasty Cherry: Gabbriette Bechtel, Chloe Chaidez, Georgia Somary and Debbie Knox-Hewson. “It documents the reality of being a woman in music, the reality of starting your own band, the reality of the UNGLAMNESS, the hangovers, the emotional highs and lows, the breakdowns, the moment you write the best song in the world and so much more,” Charli XCX wrote on Instagram.
Charli XCX is performing a sold-out show at Terminal 5 in New York City tonight. Watch the trailer for I’m With the Band: Nasty Cherry above and expect the docuseries to arrive on Netflix November 15.
