Warner Brothers has confirmed that Robert Pattinson would make a return in the sequel for The Batman.
The Batman director Matt Reeves delivered the good news during Warner Bros. Tuesday’s presentation at CinemaCon.
Speaking about the film’s next chapter, he said, “This is thrilling for me,” and further added that he is “excited” to jump back into the world for the sequel.
The Batman follows a young Bruce Wayne (Robert Pattinson) fighting corruption in Gotham City pursuing the Riddler (Paul Dano).
While it is certain that Pattinson would make a return, it is unclear whether the rest of the cast would return and if the sequel would follow the previous storyline.
The Batman featured Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Andy Serkis as Batman’s butler (Alfred Pennyworth), Colin Farrell appeared as Penguin and Jeffrey Wright as Gotham City’s police chief James Gordon.
Following its release in theatres back in March, The Batman scored the biggest opening weekend of 2022 and remains the highest-grossing movie of the year earning $760million at the global box office.
Deadline reports that when it first aired on HBO Max, it was viewed by 4.1 million households in the first week.
