HBO Max has released clips of the Harry Potter 20th anniversary. In the clip, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Crint, who played the titular Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley respectively in the film were seen on set at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in London, where the special was filmed.
“The retrospective special will tell an enchanting making of the story through all-new in-depth interviews and cast conversations, inviting fans on a magical first-person journey through one of the most beloved film franchises of all time,” HBO said.
The clip showed other cast members of the film series like Robbie Coltrane, Matthew Lewis and Mark Williams, receiving invites to the reunion, scheduled to air on HBO Max on Jan. 1. The release also featured Helena Bonham Carter.
It is confirmed that they are to be a part of the reunion, along with Ralph Fiennes, Jason Isaacs, Gary Oldman, Tom Felton, James Phelps, Oliver Phelps, Bonnie Wright, Alfred Enoch and Evanna Lynch.
The special celebrates 20 years since Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, an adaptation from J.K. Rowling’s book reached Tv screens in 2001.
The film franchise consists of eight films with Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone being the first in the franchise. The last instalment – Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – was released in 2011. The franchise picked up several awards including, Academy Awards for Best Original Score, Best Art Direction and Best Costume Design.
The film rights to Harry Potter were bought by Warner Bros for 1.65 million USD. The first film became a success at the Box Office, grossing $974 million worldwide in its first run and over $1 billion with subsequent re-releases.
Since the inception of the Harry Potter Franchise, author and writer J.k Rowlings has an estimated net worth of £820 million making her the 196th richest person in the UK.
