The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has called on Nigerians, especially those residing in flood-prone areas, to heed the warnings of the Nigerian Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA) on the looming disasters in some states by relocating to the uplands.
The NIHSA had listed Kwara, Edo, Kogi, Rivers, Anambra and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as some of likely to be affected by floods. Director General of NOA, Dr. Garba Abari, who made the appeal yesterday in Abuja, also advised residents to take necessary precautionary measures to minimise loss of lives and properties.
