Despite swindling numerous women out of over $10million, famed Tindler Swindler Simon Leviev might have found someone smarter than himself.
The star character of Netflix’s documentary, Shimon Heyada Hayut, The Tinder Swindler, has met some karma after being swindled of $7k by a couple who promised to help him verify his Instagram account.
While we might not know Hayut’s thinking which made him fall for what seems like an obvious scam, one thing we can know is that he was trying to cash in on his newly found fame.
Becoming infamous for his con of pretending to be the son of billionaire Lev Leviev and duping multiple women, Hayut has cashed in on his fame while maintaining his innocence.
Now fashioning himself as an Instagram influencer, ‘Simon Leviv’ shares his glamorous lifestyle, including high-end fashions, jet skiing, and trips worldwide.
Hayut probably didn’t think twice when a verified Instagram user Richnana said she could help him and his girlfriend, Kate Konlin verify their accounts to maintain his now-famous profile. Rihanna also promised to remove fake profiles by people posing as Hayut, claiming that her boyfriend worked at Instagram’s parent company, Meta.
Hayut was quick to jump on the offer paying $7,700 to them via PayPal. Not surprisingly, similar to his con schemes, Richnana’s boyfriend ‘Chris Fox’ had staged a call from a busy office setting ‘Meta Headquarters.’
Not one to be outsmarted, it took a call from Hayut’s manager, who contacted Meta confirming that they do not charge for blue ticks.
However, the money had been sent, and Richnana disappeared with it.
This is just the first twist in Leviev’s story since the Netflix story documenting his swindling.
Legal troubles, however, lay in wait as claims state that the real-life Leviv family has sued him for committing fraud using the Leviev name.
