Ethiopia is the worst-affected country by the coronavirus in the East African region. The nation’s Health minister Lia Tadesse previously warned that reckless disregard for preventive measures may cause a worst-case scenario during the peak of the pandemic.
The Ethiopian government had launched a nationwide month long testing campaign which was expected to determine the next steps it will undertake in its response to the pandemic.
So far, just over 1.2 million laboratory tests have been carried out in the country.
