Zimbabwe’s President Emmerson Mnangagwa has extended the term of Chief Justice Luke Malaba by five years.
In a statement, the President said he has ‘considered Malaba’s election to continue in the office of Chief justice beyond the age of seventy years for an additional period of five years.’
Mnangagwa further considered and accepted the medical report which Malaba submitted as proof of his mental and physical fitness to continue in that office.
His new term is set to formally commence on May 16.
