Kenya has announced that it will proceed to reopen its embassy in Mogadishu as soon as possible.
The country’s ministry of foreign affairs also said that the government of Kenya further invites the Ambassador of the Federal republic of Somalia to Kenya to come back to Nairobi and resume his duties.
“The ministry of foreign affairs of the Republic of Kenya avails itself of this opportunity, to renew to the ministry of foreign affairs and international cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia assurances of its highest consideration.” The statement read in part.
Kenya’s announcement is in response to the invitation by the Federal Government of Somalia to restore diplomatic relations between Somalia and Kenya.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on Saturday said Mogadishu will reciprocally re-open its embassy in Kenya to resume full diplomatic relations.
