Morocco and Israel held a round of political consultation on Wednesday, a new step toward full normalization of their relations as agreed last December, official news agency MAP reported.
This round of consultation was chaired by Fouad Yazourh, director-general of political affairs of the Moroccan Foreign Ministry, and his Israeli counterpart Alon Ushpiz, in Morocco’s capital Rabat.
The two delegations reviewed bilateral relations and ways to foster cooperation in political, economic and cultural fields, in accordance with the Morocco-U.S.-Israel trilateral agreement signed in December 2020.
They also exchanged views on regional and international issues, including global challenges in the fight against terrorism and global warming, as well as sustainable development.
Earlier in the day, the Israeli delegation held meetings with representatives of Morocco’s government institutions, business community and private sector on economic opportunities, MAP said.
