The number of fully vaccinated Kenyans surpassed the 2.94 million mark on Sunday as the country continues its nationwide inoculation exercise.
According to the latest data published by the country’s health ministry, some 2,942,191 people have been fully vaccinated from a pool of 7,554,149 vaccine doses administered so far.
4,611,958 million people are still partially vaccinated.
The East African country rolled out its mass vaccination drive in March in efforts to curb further spread of COVID-19.

The exercise initially targeted groups considered to be at high risk, including healthcare workers, the elderly, persons with underlying health conditions as well as security personnel.
The government later opened up the vaccination to all adults, urging all Kenyans to take the vaccines.
The vaccines that are in circulation in the country include Chinese manufactured Sinopharm, AstraZeneca, Pfizer and Moderna.
So far, Kenya has recorded 255,437 COVID-19 infections with 5,335 fatalities.
