A Tanzanian cabinet minister said on Friday the east African nation is ready to offer 50 hectares of land for hosting an international exhibition on housing construction using low-cost technology.
William Lukuvi, the Minister for Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development, said Tanzania is ready to offer the land for hosting the expo in collaboration with other international organizations.
A statement by the ministry said Lukuvi made the offer to provide the 50 hectares of land for hosting the expo when he held talks with a delegation from Shelter Afrique, a pan-African finance institution that exclusively supports the development of the housing and real estate sector in Africa.
According to the statement, the Shelter Afrique delegation briefed the minister on strategies it is undertaking aimed at helping African countries build decent houses using low-cost technology.
“The International Housing Construction Expo will expose Tanzanian individuals and real estate companies on construction of decent houses using low-cost technology,” said Lukuvi.
