As Abodunrin Emerges Chancellor
The President, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Dr. Samson Ayokunle, who also doubles as the President, Nigerian Baptist Convention, yesterday, performed the foundation laying ceremony of Bowen University’s Senate Building.
The building, according to the institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joshua Ogunwole would cost N2.4b and be completed within 18 months.
Ayokunle while reacting to the impact of the religious institutions on education in Nigeria, said that religious institutions have been at the forefront of education in Nigeria right from the inception of the colonial era, adding that religious institutions have brought quality and stability to the Nigerian education system.
Meanwhile, Rev. Dr. Michael Abodunrin has emerged as the new Chancellor of Bowen University, as Rev. Dr. Olumide Kehinde bows out.
Abodunrin, in his acceptance speech, described his ascension as an act of God, because he never expects such position.
He promised to do his best in making sure that the institution becomes peoples’ aspiration, so as to take it to a greater height
The Vice-chancellor of the institution described the outgoing chancellor of the institution as a stabilising agent in a time of crisis, saying that the institution will always remember him for his impact.
