Ojoto police station in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State was on Thursday June 10, attacked by unknown gunmen.
The gunmen killed a police inspector but were unable to burn the station as they were stiffly resisted.
A senior police officer told The Nation “We lost one Inspector today again”. The source said police commissioner Chris Owolabi was preparing to visit the attacked station.
An eyewitness also said the hoodlums came in three Sienna vehicles, but were repelled by policemen on duty. The eyewitness said;
“We are in trouble in this state now.
“Nobody knows which way to follow anymore. The problems and tension being created in Anambra are too much for us to bear.”
