The member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Chinedu Ogah, has said that Ebonyi State Governor, Chief Dave Umahi was the candidate to beat in the 2003 presidential election.
We had earlier reported that David Umahi, the Ebonyi State Governor has officially informed President Muhammadu Buhari of his intention to contest the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement made available to journalists on Tuesday, Ogah congratulated his governor for the bold step to declare for the seat of the president.
“I salute my governor’s courage and assure him of my readiness to showcase him (governor Umahi) to the world, in view of unprecedented achievement as the Chief security officer of the state (Ebonyi).
“Our governor is clearly the best in the country in terms of performance. He has set a record that will be difficult to erase and it is an opportunity for Nigeria to have a taste of the good governance he has demonstrated in Ebonyi.
“He is a good market and I am proud to identify with the project.
“Your Excellency sir, you have thrown the ball on the soccer field, while we, the game players will leave no stone unturned to make sure your ambition is realized,” he said.
