Ikhin community in Owan East LGA of Edo state, was on Thursday thrown into tragic experiences as seven people were reportedly killed.
Our source say the clash between Ikhin and Ebira youths is not unconnected with disagreement over sharing of money collected during the APC campaign rally at Afuze.
According to the source (name witheld) in the community, “On Thursday, the youths who went for the APC rally had disagreement over the sharing of money.
In the process of heated disagreement, an Ebira youth shot an Ikhin youth (an inlaw). His twin brother in anger challenged the Ebira youth who in turn shot three others. Two died while other two were rushed to the hospital.
However, in a retalaitory attacked, the Ikhin youths burnt Igbira houses along with their property while five were killed.
As at the time of filling this report, police, army and Vigilantee have taken over the village to prevent further hostilities.
