Justice Abubakar Kultigi of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) yesterday finally admitted former Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Bello Adoke to bail with N50m and a surety in like sum.
Justice Kultigi granted the defendants bail while ruling on the bail application filed by Adoke, Ahmed Aliyu and Rasky Gbinigie.
The applicants, Malabu Oil and Gas Limited, Nigeria Agip Exploration Limited, Shell Ultra Deep Limited and Shell Nigeria Exploration Production Limited, are standing trial before the court on a 42-count charge bordering on alleged fraud in Malabu Oil deal.
He said the surety must be an FCT resident with property within the jurisdiction and must also provide evidence of tax payment in the last three years and a written undertaking that the defendants would be available for trial.
