All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth Parliament, Bauchi State has distanced itself from the attack on the Nigeria Union Journalists’ (NUJ) secretariat.
It claimed those who carried out the act were disgruntled elements within the party, sponsored to cause rancour.
Political thugs had, on Thursday, disrupted an ongoing press conference organised by some factional party chieftains. The hoodlums bashed into the briefing, insisting the media must not be addressed over internal fracas.
Two journalists were injured, as a result of hurling of chairs and an attempt to destroy working gadgets.
Condemning the incident, party’s Youth Parliament Secretary, Mr. Nasiru Chigari said: “The youths parliament gathered reliably that it was a fight between some disgruntled elements within the party, trying to share the money given to them to cause rancour in the party.
“In their attempt to collect part of the proceeds, the fight erupted. We, the indefatigable APC youth parliament across the state are law-abiding.
“We wish to condemn in strong terms and to dissociate ourselves from the disruption.”
