Following the outbreak of the deadly Coronavirus pandemic in Nigeria, Ebonyi State Government led by Engr. Chief David Nweze Umahi has approved the sum of ₦1Billion palliative to help Ebonyians cushion the effect of COVID-19 pandemic, Afriupdate reports.
This was disclosed in a statement by CAN Chairman/SSA Religious & Welfare Matters, Rev Fr Abraham Nwali on Wednesday evening April 8th, 2020.

The statement also directed that the suspension of Church services be lifted with immediate effect — stating that Worship Services should hold every Sunday between the Hours of 8:00am to 12:00noon.
“All worshippers must ensure compliance to the use of face masks inside and outside the Church, and as well maintain reasonable distance, must comply to handwashing and use of sanitizers”
“Every Church Service must begin by 8am and must concluded by 12noon, every Sunday” said the statement.
“Do not stay beyond 12noon and ensure the observance multiple services to avoid overcrowding (for large congregations)
The statement further added that defaulters will be penalized in accordance with Ebonyi State Coronavirus and other Dangerous Infectious Diseases Law, 2020.
We had earlier reported that Ebonyi State Government ordered the closure of all land borders and inter-state transportation till further notice as a measure of combating the spread of novel Coronavirus in the state.

Recall that Nigeria on Wednesday April 8th 2020 recorded Twenty-two new cases of the deadly coronavirus, bringing the total number of COVID-19 infections in the country to 276.
