Kogi State on Wednesday April 27, 2020, recorded its first two cases of the deadly Coronavirus disease, Afriupdate reports.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on their verified Twitter account, Wednesday night.
It was the first time that positive results were confirmed for Kogi since the outbreak of the infection in Nigeria – exactly three months ago.
In its tweet, the Health Agency announced 389 new patients and 5 new deaths.
“389 new cases of #COVID19; Lagos-256 Katsina-23 Edo-22 Rivers-14 Kano-13 Adamawa-11 Akwa Ibom-11 Kaduna-7 Kwara-6 Nasarawa-6 Gombe-2 Plateau-2 Abia-2 Delta-2 Benue-2 Niger-2 Kogi-2 Oyo-2 Imo-1 Borno-1 Ogun-1 Anambra-1.”
There are now 8733 confirmed COVID-19 cases; 2501 have been discharged and 254 deaths recorded.

Coronavirus has affected over 5.7milliom people and killed 356,000 across several countries.
Almost 2.5million have recovered from the pandemic that sparked a global crisis.
Meanwhile, as it stands only cross Rivers State is yet to record Coronavirus case in the country with the presidential taskforce on Covid-19 saying the state has local capacity to test COVID-19 disease and that the state was also grappling with other challenges like inadequate surveillance, dearth of personnel, and other logistical problems
