Soldiers have begun the patrol of streets in Enugu State to restore sanity in the state following the #EndSARS protests that had derailed activities in the last couple of days.
The patrol followed the review of the curfew imposed by the state government on three municipal local councils in the state after several property were either vandalised or set ablaze by rampaging youths under the cover of the protests.
Meanwhile, an Enugu based socio-political group, Enugu State Continuity and Equity Movement (ESCEM), has appealed for calm, lamenting that miscreants have infiltrated the peaceful protests in the state.
In a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Onyendozi E. Onwe and made available to newsmen in Enugu, the group also condemned the killing of peaceful protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos as well as other parts of the country.
Also, the leadership of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has urged Igbo youths not to engage in any act that will make them prey to the police or army.
In a statement signed by its National Director of Information Samuel Edeson, MASSOB, led by Uchenna Madu, directed the people of Biafra not to engage in violence or any action that may lead to death.
