An initiative resembling the famed N-Power scheme of the Nigerian Federal Government, Teach For Nigeria Recruitment is ongoing, Afriupdate News reports.
Recall N-Power had N-Teach as part of the components of its graduate programme. Volunteers were posted to public schools across Nigeria.
Teach For Nigeria is a non-profit organisation which its founders say is “focused on eliminating educational inequity in Nigeria by placing future leaders to teach in underserved schools in low-income communities”

What year did Teach For Nigeria launch?
In 2015, Folawe Omikunle joined Teach For Nigeria as Program Manager in its early stages. She quickly transitioned to become the Chief Exceutive Officer (CEO) in 2016, leading the start-up and driving the organizational development which led to the eventual launch of the organization in 2017.
The Teach For Nigeria Fellowship is “a transformational leadership program that equips Fellows with transferable leadership skills to effect change beyond the classrooms in the communities we serve”, a message on its official website reads.
“After the Fellowship, alumni of Teach For Nigeria build on their classroom teaching experience to drive long-term systemic changes in the educational sector in Nigeria as they progress into leadership roles in their varied professions.

Teach For Nigeria Salary
Successful applicants are expected to be deployed to Lagos, Ogun or Kaduna states. The salary of Teach For Nigeria enrollees – as of 2018 – is N80,000 (about 209 US Dollars) per month.
While at the time, applicants must not be more than 35 years old, this online news medium cannot independently verify if there is any age restriction for this year’s opening.

The Teach For Nigeria Fellowship is a highly selective program. The Fellowship attract applications from leaders from different workplaces and graduates from the best universities across the world. Stage 1: The Application form
