The Job Creation and Empowerment Initiative of the Social Investment Programme of the Nigerian Government on Wednesday said that it cannot give an exact time and date for settlement of unpaid stipends of some N-Power beneficiaries because the Accountant General’s office is now responsible for payments.
The famed scheme made this known via its official Twitter page while responding to beneficiaries query about when the unsettled payment would Commence as seen below:
“Halimah, there is nothing more than we wish than to give you an exact time and date but Accountant General’s office is responsible for payment now”.
Until the issues are resolved, we can’t say for certain.

The scheme also added that Sadiya Farouq, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs “is anxious about payment getting to everyone owed quickly”.
We disagree. Institutionalization is so other young men and women decades from now too can benefit from the programme that has helped.
Contrary to what you believe, the Minister is anxious about payment getting to everyone owed quickly https://t.co/3WK54dAK7V

Reacting to online allegations of embezzlement of funds against Farouq, the handlers of the Twitter handle rufuted that claim.
Al'Amin, you shouldn't believe things like that sir. No one has access to your funds. https://t.co/07EHLkRJ5J

Recall that the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development on Wednesday debunked claims by protesting N-Power beneficiaries that they were being owed up to three months’ stipends.
The Ministry challenged those beneficiaries with such claims to come forward by presenting their information to the ministry for verification and appropriate action.
